More of Steve Jackson's drawings from our figure drawing sessions. I will be scheduling more sessions after the new year and will keep everyone posted on new dates as they are planned. I would also like to have a small showing of the work generated from the sessions in the spring so keep that in mind!

High Lonesome

Sunday afternoon featured more local musical talent with acoustic duo Carol Jones and Ero Lippold of High Lonesome. What a treat and perfect for the holidays! Their next gig is at the Blue Star Cafe in Winooski on December 21 at 8:30. You can check out the short clip below, but please excuse the audio quality…it doesn't do them justice.

Pronounced "Le-in"

Local author Leon Thompson (who happens to be my co-worker and good friend) had the crowd in tears Friday night while reading material from his two books titled "Good Junk" and "Dork." Both volumes are collections of his (mostly) humor columns written (mostly) for the St. Albans Messenger newspaper. It was a fun night at the gallery (especially for that one guy who drove all the way up from Burlington with his wife after hearing Leon's spot on the Corm & the Coach show on the radio Friday morning). Leon's books are currently on sale here too (and I could probably use my connections to get an autographed copy).

More from the Students…

County Courier staffer Greg Lamoureux attended the recent BFA student art reception (last Thursday) and has put together a great multimedia presentation on the newspaper's website. Featuring interviews of the student artists and their teachers, it's a great thing for those who missed the reception. Go here and click on the art within the photo for audio clips from the corresponding artist. Thanks again CC and Greg too!
